Day 1 - San Lucas Market + driving

Typical street in Guatemala City

Tired feet

Working at the market

washing clothes at the market square

covered market

This is how they drive here. :)

We did too, but not holding metal rods on a busy road.

Here are a few shots from today. We visited the local town market, then had to drive to the city to visit Paolo's foster mom before we brought him home. Her husband is dying and she could not come to visit us. It was a very humbling but enriching experience to visit in her tiny 2 room house.

The picture of the house we show today, is where we are staying. Our american friends have a small house for US standards, but quite a palace for most of the population here. Tomorrrow is our first day at the clinic in the mountains.
